TWO Buxton teenagers took on a three peaks challenge to raise funds for the Help for Heroes charity.
Alex Russell, and Ben Hope, both 18, are students at Buxton Community School, and in their final year of sixth form.
On Sunday, November 4, they set out at 7am and completed their challenge in the dark.
The aim of the challenge was for them to finish in under ten hours and they completed it with three minutes to spare - clocking up a time of nine hours 57 mins after having to jog the final two miles.
They covered 24 miles (40km) over three peaks - the first peak was peak Pen-y-Ghent (2,277 ft), the second Whernside (2,415 ft) and the final peak completed was Ingleborough (2,372 ft).
So far the pair have raised £736 for the charity.
It is not the first endurance event that they have taken part in.
Both Alex and Ben completed the Buxton Triathlon 2012 and enjoyed it so much they are already planning to take part in a similar event next year.
