New trees in Hall Leys Park thanks to Mercury readers

Six new trees have been planted in the award-winning Hall Leys Park thanks to the generous donations of Matlock Mercury readers.

As part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations we asked our readers to donate any spare change they had in jars around the house and it didn’t take long before we had raised £300.

The money went straight to Derbyshire Dales District Council, who manage the park, and this week an avenue of trees were planted by park staff.
