New retail park including supermarket and pub planned for Derbyshire
Major development plans have been submitted for a new supermarket, pub and food and drink drive-through in Derbyshire.
Amber Valley Borough council has received a planning application for a disused site just off Nottingham Road, Somercotes, Alfreton.
The planning documents, available to view on the borough council website, state the proposed new supermarket is to be occupied by Aldi, meaning Aldi’s existing store adjacent to the site on London Road will be closed as it “no longer meets its modern requirements”.
The public house is to be occupied by Marstons.
It is anticipated the drive-through food and drink outlet will be occupied by a well-known company specialising in coffee sales, although no further details have been released.
Three non-food retail units also make up the plans, but again no occupiers have yet been announced.
A car park of 373 spaces is also proposed.
