New police officers on the beat
There are some new faces patrolling the streets of Middlecroft, Inkersall and Poolsbrook
PC Kelly Brown has become the latest member of the areas Safer Neighbourhood policing team, taking over from PC Adam Case who has moved into a different role in the force.
Kelly has been a police officer for just over two years, where she has worked on the response teams covering the Chesterfield area.
Before joining Derbyshire Constabulary, PC Brown, who lives locally, previously worked in the control room at South Yorkshire Police, and prior to that as a P.E. teacher at a school in Leeds.
She said: “Although I am familiar with the area, I am new to the role in Safer Neighbourhoods so I’m currently getting to know the local community to find out about their concerns.
“It is a different style of policing and my focus will be to target the issues that matter to local residents and work with partnership agencies to try and find effective long term solutions.”
Outside of work PC Brown plays rugby for the force’s LGBT team and supports Sheffield Wednesday Football Club.
PCSO Janis Naylor has also moved to cover the Poolsbrook, Duckmanton areas, having worked in the Newbold, Brockwell, Dunston, Whittington Moor and St. Helens area for more than five years.
