A NEW PCSO will be patrolling the streets of Ironville and Riddings.
PCSO Meikel Miller has recently joined the Safer Neighbourhood policing team that covers the two villages.
Meikel joined Derbyshire Constabulary as a PCSO just over four years ago and in that time has worked from Heanor police station. She has experience of dealing with a number of different community issues including anti-social behaviour, underage drinking and off road bike operations.
Meikel said: “One of my main aims as a PCSO is to tackle anti-social behaviour. I think it is important to work with local schools and build a rapport with children from a young age and to get them involved in diversionary activities.
“I am looking forward to working in Ironville and Riddings and have already spent some time there with local residents. There is a very strong sense of community and I am looking forward to being part of that. Please feel free to approach me with any issues that you may have.”
