Work started on the site in January and it is hoped the new centre will see more recruits sign up.

Commanding officer Flight Lieutenant Steve Broomhead said: “We now have a wider range of modern facilities to offer both our cadets and new young people who would like to join us.

“As an Air Cadet there are lots of opportunities to experience flying, gliding, and being able to gain new qualifications.”

The squadron train on Monday and Wednesday evenings between 7.30pm and 9.30pm and are open to young people aged between 12 and 20. Contact 1890@aircadets.org
