New book shines spotlight on Kinder Scout

Containing 140 stunning full-colour photographs, the new book reveals the social, political, cultural and ecological developments which have shaped the physical and human landscape of the Peak District's highest point.

It has been produced by photographer John Beatty and writer Ed Douglas, and released by Vertebrate Publishing.

Topics covered by the book include conservation and the environment; rambling, climbing and other outdoor pursuits; the women’s suffrage movement, industry and aviation; land ownership and the Kinder Mass Trespass of 1932.
