New bobby on the beat in Dronfield

PC Dave Crook has become the latest member of the areas Safer Neighbourhood policing team, picking up the reins from PC Sally Horner who has moved into a different role in the force.

Dave started his career in January 1994 and has been worked on different frontline response and investigation teams covering Dronfield, Eckington, Killamarsh, Clay Cross and Chesterfield. He also served two years in community policing, as the beat officer for North Wingfield.

PC Crook said: “I know the local area very well and I’m looking forward to the community focussed side of policing that our Safer Neighbourhood teams are about.

“It is obvious from talking to local residents that PC Horner was very well known, and I hope to continue to build upon those good community relations.

“Please get in touch if you have any concerns or issues that we could help with so that we can work to target them and ensure our area continues to be a safe and pleasant place to live, work and visit.”

Being in the police force run’s in Dave’s blood as his Dad, was a Sergeant at Derby when he retired, his Uncle, was a former dog handler based at Matlock, and Grandfather who was a police officer in Freshville.

Outside of work Dave, who is father to four adult children, enjoys holidays and trips away in the family caravan.

In other team news, PCSO Phil Levers has also moved to cover the Dronfield and Unstone areas, having been previously based at Killamarsh. He replaces PCSO Stefan Broadhead, who has moved to the Killamarsh team.

The Dronfield and Unstone and Rural Safer Neighbourhood policing teams are now made up of PC Dave Crook, PCSO Rebecca Basford and PCSO Phil Levers.
