Mountain rescuers help injured walker

Mountain rescuers were called into action after a holidaymaker had an accident on Friday.

The Buxton and Edale Teams Snatch Squad were called to Longstone Lane, in Ashford, to assist East Midlands Ambulance |Service, following reports of an injured walker.

A 52–year–old lady from Norfolk on holiday in the Peak District had suffered a suspected fractured ankle after slipping on a farm track. It’s believed she was lying injured for some time before she was found.

She was treated on site by an Edale team paramedic and carried to a land ambulance which transferred her to hospital for further treatment.
