Motorists are being warned of the temporary closure of the A617 bypass over the next two weekends.

The bypass will be closed between the A61 Hornsbridge roundabout and Hassocky Lane between 11.59pm on Saturdays June 16 and 24 and 10am on Sundays June 17 and 25 for maintenance work.

The alternative route will be via the Lordsmill Street roundabout; A619 Hollis Lane; Spital Lane; St Leonard's Drive; Hasland Road; Mansfield Road; Corbriggs; Hassocky Lane and vice versa.

Derbyshire County Council said access will be maintained wherever possible, and the road will re-open as soon as the work is finished, which may be earlier than advertised.
