Shortly before 7.30pm, Highways England said two lanes of the motorway had been closed northbound between Tibshelf Services and junction 29 following a crash.

A Highways Agency spokesperson said it was a ‘single-vehicle collision with the central reservation and then the nearside barrier on the smart motorway section’.
