Morrisons applies to open Chesterfield stores until midnight this Christmas

Supermarket giant Morrisons has applied to extend the opening hours of its Chesterfield stores until midnight during the festive season.

The supermarket has applied to Chesterfield Borough Council for permission to open its Chatsworth Road and Staveley stores from 6am to midnight every day of the week, although it is unlikely it would open these hours on Sundays.

The Chatsworth Road store currently opens 7am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, while the Staveley store is open from 6am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

A spokesman said: “We want to make shopping trips easier for customers over the busy Christmas period.

“The application to extend our opening hours from 6am to midnight will mean shoppers can visit the store at a time to suit them.”
