MOBILITY SCOOTER DEATH: Victim, 88, named after fatal hit in Derbyshire town
Police have named a man who died after being hit by a mobility scooter.
The 88-year-old – who has this afternoon been identified as Frederick Longlands, of Glebe Crescent, Stanley – had been waiting for a bus at the lower end of Bath Street, Ilkeston, at 10.45am on Tuesday, February 3.
He was struck by the scooter and taken to a nearby shop while waiting for an ambulance.
He died from his injuries in hospital last Wednesday.
An 80-year-old man is currently helping Derbyshire police with their enquiries.
