Men arrested for killing Bolsover dog are investigated for arson

Two men who were arrested this week on suspicion of killing a dog are now being investigated for arson.

The men – a 20–year–old of no fixed address and a 21–year–old of Bolsover – were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage on Monday after officers discovered the body of a dog at a property in Shuttlewood, Bolsover, following numerous complaints from members of the public.

A police spokesman has now revealed the case has been escalated to an arson investigation with the potential of endangering life as it is believed that after killing the dog, the men may have set a fire in the property while other people were still inside.
