The Mayor of Chesterfield has visited postal workers this week to pass on seasonal greetings ahead of the Christmas rush.
Cllr Alexis Diouf visited Royal Mail’s Chesterfield Delivery Office to give encouragement to postmen and women at their busiest time of year.
He was joined by Chairman of North East Derbyshire Cllr Tracy Reader and the pair were shown around the office by Delivery Office Manager, Anthony Power.
Cllr Diouf said: “Our postal workers do such an important job at this time of year and help to deliver Christmas for many people and families in our area.
“I would like to thank them for their efforts and wish them all the best over the busy festive period.”
The last recommend posting dates for Christmas are: Second Class, December 18; First Class, December 20; Special Delivery, December 23.
