Matlock scouts have climbed four times the height of mount Everest to raise money for charity.

On Saturday, June 22, 5th Matlock (All Saints) Scout Group took part in The Big Climb to raise money for charity Aquabox – which sends emergency supplies and warer cleaning devices to disaster areas and countries in need of emergency aid.

The distances were measured and they collectively climbed four times the height of mount Everest.

The event was organised by Group Scout Leader Richard Maltby, who was supported by his leaders.

Mr Maltby said: “It was a fantastic event which surpassed all our expectations. The enthusiasm with which the young people addressed the task in hand was very impressive and a good time was had by all, albeit some young people had aching legs the following day.”
