Matlock firefighters rescue calf stuck in a hole

Firefighters have rescued a trapped calf.

Crews from Matlock helped free the female animal after she became stuck down a hole in a field on Knabhall Lane, Brackenfield, Alfreton, at about 2pm yesterday.

A vet sedated the calf and the firefighters used ropes to winch up the animal.

The rescue operation took about three hours.
