FOUR masked men stole hundreds of cigarettes during a raid on a supermarket.

The men, wearing balaclavas, stole the cigarettes during a burglary at the Co-op on Victoria Street in Shirebrook on Sunday, January 22.

At 10.35pm the men broke into the shop through a fire exit and forced open a cigarette store.

They filled a sack and left in a white Ford Escort.

They drove onto Carter Lane in the direction of the Summit pub.

In a separate offence, cigarettes were stolen from Hepthorne Lane News on Station Road in North Wingfield.

The burglary happened between 2.30am and 6am on Saturday January 21 when someone broke into the shop and stole cigarettes from the display.
