Firefighters came to the rescue when a man’s hand got stuck in machinery in Chesterfield this afternoon.

The incident happened off Highbury Road, Newbold, at around 2.30pm.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters used small tools to release one male with his hand stuck in machinery.

"The male, suffering crush injuries, made his own way to hospital.”
