A MAN who stole more than £20,000 from an elderly relative has been jailed.
David Fareham, 29, had access to his 76-year-old relative’s bank account between October 2009 and April 2011 and regularly bought items and withdrew money for personal use without her consent.
His theft was discovered when they became suspicious and alerted police.
Fareham, of Pennine Way, Chesterfield, was arrested and admitted taking the money.
He pleaded guilty to theft and was jailed for 20 months following a hearing at Derby Crown Court.
