Man suspected of murder attempt to appear at Chesterfield magistrates
A Derbyshire man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman suffered severe head wounds.
Paul Atkinson, 51, of Station Street in Ashbourne is alleged to have assault a 58-year-old woman at his home on Sunday, February 28.
Police said: "She sustained a head wound and was treated in the Royal Derby Hospital."
He is due to appear before magistrates at Chesterfield Justice Centre today (Tuesday, March 1).
