Police have confirmed that a man who was found with serious head injuries in a street in Buxton had slipped on ice.
The 43-year-old man was found by a passer-by on the pavement in Springdale off St John’s Road late on Saturday.
He was taken to Salford Royal Hospital with serious head injuries but his condition is now improving.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said: “Officers have now been able to speak to the man and have confirmed that he had slipped on ice.
“There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his injuries.
“Derbyshire police would like to thank those who contacted the force with information.”
