Man dies after being hit by train in Long Eaton

The incident is believed to have happened at around 11.30pm.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Long Eaton station shortly before 11.30am after a report of a person being struck by a train.

“Derbyshire Constabulary and East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended. A man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Officers are currently working to identify the man and inform his family.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Services returned to normal at 2pm.
