Man arrested after fuel stolen from diggers at The Midland Railway in Derbyshire

A Derbyshire man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing fuel from diggers at a The Midland Railway in Derbyshire.

Police have arrested a 37-year old man, from Ironville, on suspicion of syphoning diesel from two diggers at the heritage railway in Butterley between Tuesday, November 24 and Wednesday, November 25.

The man was arrested by officers from the Somercotes and Riddings Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team following reports of suspicious activity in the area.

A force spokesman said he has been questioned and is currently on bail pending further enquiries.
