Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Shirebrook in the early hours of Monday morning.
The 37-year-old suffered a puncture wound to his chest after being attacked by three men on the football pitch at the town’s park off Vale Drive. The assault was reported to police shortly before 12.30am.
The man is being treated in the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. His injuries are not thought to be serious.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said: “A knife has been found on the park and searches of the area are complete.”
