M1 crash woman

A WOMAN had to be cut free from her car after a crash on the M1 which left the vehicle on its roof.

Fire crews from Alfreton and Chesterfield were called to the scene on the northbound carriageway between junctions 28 and 29 at 2pm on Friday.

The woman, who has not been named, was taken to hospital by the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and crews left the scene at 2.55pm.

Alfreton were called out again to an incident at Crich at 3.10pm.

But the crews were unable to gain access to a tractor, which was on fire, on Cromford Road.

The tractor was left to burn safely.
