Lots of attractions at 85th Ashover Show

A picturesque north Derbyshire village is once again set to put on a spectacle to remember.

Thousands of country fair revellers will savour the sights, sounds and smells of traditional rural life at the 85th Ashover Show on Wednesday.

The much-loved event – which has become Derbyshire’s premier one-day show – will feature dozens of horticultural, livestock and agricultural competitions with entries from across the region as well as dog shows, vintage cars and craft displays.

A spokesman said: “We are proud to offer a traditional country show which has something to entertain every member of the family.

“As much as the world has progressed since 1924, Ashover Show remains as one of the most popular agricultural events in the country and enjoys tremendous loyalty and support from its members, supporters and visitors.

“There are always so many highlights and we intend to continue to offer outstanding value and a full day’s entertainment for many years to come,” he added.

Ashover Show will take place at Rectory Fields in the village.

Gates open at 9am.
