Lorry and cyclist in A38 crash

A cyclist has been hospitalised after a crash with an HGV lorry this morning.

The cyclist was travelling north-bound at 6.15am near Watchorn Island, Alfreton, and the M1 junction when the collision occurred.

The road was closed on the A38 after the B600 for Cotes Park Industrial Estate as emergency services were on the scene.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said: “The cyclist has been taken to Queen’s Medical Centre with a suspected broken arm.”
The road was reopened after 7.15am.
