Peter Hanratty lives in Madagascar where he is the UK consular representative and runs a renewable energy business with his brother Patrick.

He also has a fleet of six taxis. Peter said: “The taxis are called Clay Cross in memory of my late father, Dr James Hanratty, who was the doctor in Clay Cross for 35 years. “
Peter, who is based in a city on the north-west coast of Madagascar where he has lived for 18 years, said: “It is wonderful to see Clay Cross in Mahajanga. The Clay Cross taxis have become so well known that people are asking - where is Clay Cross?”

Perhaps we should twin Clay Cross with Mahajanga.”
