LETTER: Has Downing Street put feelings ahead of country's interests?

It appears Downing Street has put its '˜feelings' about Nigel Farage ahead of the country's interests.

That is the only conclusion which I can draw from the put-down to the President-elect of the United States’ statement saying Mr Farage would be a great ambassador.

The world has changed. Mr Farage would have been ideal for this role, with his close relationship with Donald Trump and the President -elect’s fondness for the UK.

And despite what the Government says, Mr Farage would do a fantastic job as our ambassador to the States. Politics is moving on. The days of partisan party politics is moving on. Let’s not get left behind.
