I wonder if the rowdy ones during the Service of Remembrance recently were the same ones I witnessed a few years ago whilst waiting for colleagues from the local RNLI group to exit the church after the service. I couldn’t get there in time to join them on the forthcoming parade.
Most of the men wore dress uniforms with white plumes in their berets - I never did find out what regiment they were from but assumed they were Army. It was painfully obvious they and their screeching wives/girlfriends had been in the pub for quite a time and the noise they were making was pretty disgusting - and depressing. A lady there with her young son commented on the fact that it was a poor example to set a youngster, as indeed it was.
