LETTER: Bakewell Christmas lights are the most pathetic I have ever seen

Once again, I feel I must take pen to paper and comment on the Christmas tree lights in the Square at Bakewell.

We have the nicest shaped tree for several years, but have the most pathetic set of lights I have ever seen. This is the second year we have had bad lights.

Bakewell is the only town in the National Park and deserves better.

Surely there are several large firms in Bakewell who would only be too pleased to sponsor a set of quality lights, if asked, even if the Derbyshire Dales District Council cannot or will not do the same. Let’s hope this time next year things will improve.
