Big-hearted legal eagles are set to swoop into action by taking on the Chesterfield Marathon and raising money to help homeless people re-build their lives.
Bob Sowter, Lucy Hooper and Denney Lau, of the Johnson Partnership solicitors, on Burlington Street, Chesterfield, will be running the marathon on Sunday, September 20, for the Pathways charity for the homeless, on Saltergate, Chesterfield.
Denney said: “We chose Pathways because it does a lot of great work helping the homeless to get back on their feet. Sadly, some homeless people can become so desperate for food and shelter that they commit minor offences but Pathways works very hard to prevent the homeless falling into this trap.”
The Johnson trio, with support from colleague John Wilford, will be taking part in the marathon as a relay team to cover the marathon’s 26.2mile distance between them.
Anyone wishing to sponsor them or wishing to make donations for Pathways can do so by visiting the solicitors’ office at Burlington House, on Burlington Street, Chesterfield, or by visiting Pathways, on Saltergate.
