LANGLEY MILL FIRE: Father and sons appear in court charged with murder after fatal blaze

Three men have appeared in court charged with murder after a fire in Langley Mill in which three people died.

Peter Eyre, 43, and his sons Anthony, 21, both of Central Avenue, Sandiacre, and Simon, 24, of New Tythe Street, Long Eaton, each face three counts of murder.

Amy Smith, 17, her six-and-a-half-month-old daughter Ruby-Grace Gaunt and friend Edward Green, 17, of Belper, all died in the fire at Amy’s flat on North Street which broke out at about 4am on Sunday.

The defendants spoke only to confirm their names.

The case has been adjourned until Friday, July 10 at Nottingham Crown Court.
