Lizzie Saunders, 24, of Hasland, had been doing some Christmas shopping at The Range in Chesterfield, when she accidently left her purse on the top of her vehicle and drove home.

But to her surprise, a kind-hearted lorry driver who found the purse, posted it through her letterbox in the early hours of the morning a few days later with a note.

Lizzie, who said the purse contained her bank card and driving licence, said: “I just presumed I had lost everything and it had been taken.”

The nursery nurse phoned the shops but had no luck.

However, a lorry driver by the name of Jamie Mees, returned it after finding it on his travels.

Lizzie then tracked him down on social media to say thanks.

“I couldn’t thank him enough for his lovely kind-hearted gesture,” she said.

“He also said it’s the fourth purse he’s found and returned this year. What a lovely man.”
