Kids left heartbroken after Halloween dummy goes missing from Derbyshire village

Villagers have been left devastated after their Halloween dummy went missing.

Children and adults from Morton, Alfreton, joined together to make the Headless Homer creation as part of a scarecrow competition.

The dummy is believed to have been stolen on Sunday night or the early hours of Monday morning.

Parent Kate Bird said: “We spent many hours and weeks with children of varying ages making it.

“The children are heartbroken and the parents are upset too. We’re doing our best to keep an eye out for his whereabouts.

“We hope he is returned so the children can still enter him into the competition.”
