A bomb squad and police officers were called to Stronegravels tip on Sheffield Road on Friday morning.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said at the time: "Officers attended an incident at Stonegravels waste disposal centre to reports of what was believed to be plastic explosives.

"The Army’s explosive ordinance disposal team removed the suspected plastic explosives from the site and the items have now been taken to a safe location to carry out a controlled explosion elsewhere.

"Enquiries are ongoing as to how the suspected explosives came to be in the area."

On Monday, the spokesperson said: "Our enquiries are ongoing into this matter.

"Anyone with any information about the incident should contact us on 101 with reference 18*403537."

The tip was closed for a short time.
