Inquest opens into death of Alan Carlile

The inquest into the death of a dad-of-one has been opened and adjourned.

Alan Carlile, 27, of Gorse Valley Way, Hasland, was found dead on a path near Gorse Valley Road, Hasland, at about 9.30am on Friday, June 6.

At Chesterfield coroners’ court this afternoon, PC Adam Mortlock, of Derbyshire police, said: “He was found on his knees with his head resting on a branch between two trees – there were signs of drug use.

“There was a used needle near his right hand and a large bottle of alcohol next to him.”

Coroner Sophie Cartwright adjourned the inquest to a provisional date of September 19.
