Inquest opens into death of Halcyon Theuri

An inquest has been opened and adjourned following the death of a 21-year-old Alfreton man.

Halcyon Theuri, who was a chef, was found dead in the early hours of Monday morning Wingfield Road. He had suffered head injuries.

The inquest was opened at Derby and South Derbyshire Coroners Court by deputy coroner, Louise Pinder. It was adjourned for six weeks.

A 51-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has since been released on bail.

Police are appealing to anyone that was in the area of the A615 Oakerthorpe to Alfreton Road, between 3am and 4am to contact them.

They would also like for anyone who may have noticed any damage to a car that could have happened overnight to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 153 of August 31.
