An inquest has been opened into the death of a man whose body was found in a field.
Alistair Gosney, 26, was reported missing from his home in Chaucer Road, Chesterfield, on Monday, January 12.
Police found his body while searching a field off Lower Alley, Calow, three days later.
During a hearing at Chesterfield coroners’ court this afternoon, PC John Careless, of Derbyshire police, said: “Investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are continuing.
“It’s an upsetting and tragic time for his family.”
Coroner James Newman said his office was still awaiting post-mortem results into Mr Gosney’s death and adjourned the inquest to a later date.
