Inquest opened into death of Buxton woman

The inquest into the death of a Buxton woman who died in hospital has opened today.

Sonia Kaur-Carter, of Eagle Parade, Buxton, died at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, on Wednesday, July 6.

The 47-year-old was from Malaysia.

Speaking at the opening into her death at Chesterfield Coroner’s Court, Detective Constable Colin Jones, of Buxton CID, said: “Her death was first reported by Stepping Hill Hospital.

“She had been taken into hospital in the morning on July 6 and she later died in hospital.

“Apparently she has fallen and banged her head.”

Assistant coroner for Derbyshire, James Newman, set a review date for the hearing for January 31, 2017.
