Inquest opened after man found dead in car at Edale

An inquest has been opened after a man was found dead in his car at Edale yesterday (Weds).

Chesterfield Coroner’s Court heard that Mr Hardwick’s car had crashed into the bottom of a hedgerow.

Giving evidence today (Thurs), Detective Constable Darren Parkin said the group of walkers had noticed a blue rope near to the car and called emergency services.

The court heard there was no note left by Mr Hardwick, who was senior estimator for a scaffolding firm.

Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

The inquest was opened and adjourned. It will be reviewed again on July 2.
