Inquest into death of Wirksworth teenager is opened
The inquest into the death of a 15–year–old boy has been formally opened.
The opening of Joseph Southam’s inquest was held at Derby Coroner’s Court on Friday, where details of his identity were confirmed as well as where and when he died.
The teenager was found in a critical condition at his home in Canterbury Terrace, Wirksworth, on July 31 this year.
He was rushed to Derbyshire Children’s Hospital, in Derby, where he died later that day.
The date of the conclusion of the inquest, at which a cause of death will be determined, is yet to be decided.
