Shoppers were also invited to purchase discounted home security kits as part of the annual initiative, such as shed and garage alarms, timer switches, door chimes and property marking gear like SmartWater.

The team will be heading out in the mobile police station and will be visiting Tideswell on Tuesday, October 14, between 7pm and 9pm, Youlgrave on Tuesday, October 21, between 6pm and 8pm, and Birchover on Wednesday, October 22, between 6pm and 8pm.

Operation Illuminate is an annual campaign by Derbyshire Dales Community Safety Partnership, which is led by police and Derbyshire Dales District Council.

It sees officers selling cut-price home security items to Dales residents from police stations and during visits out in the community.
