Ilkeston youngster Will enjoys his new-found freedom with donated trike

Thanks to the Round Table organisation, which wanted to help give Will a whole new experience, the youngster can now enjoy his new-found freedom.

They raised over £1,000 so the school could buy Will his very own custom built trike.

Their motto is Adopt, Adapt, Improve, and now Will has the freedom to use his trike to play with his friends and explore his physical environment.

Will suffers from central hypoventilation syndrome, which means he spends most of his time in a wheelchair with limited opportunities to exercise and play outside.

Bennerley Fields School acting headteacher Ann Harrison, said: “It’s fantastic to see Will ride around the playground with such a huge smile on his face.

“We are very grateful to the Round Table and will be working with them again in developing a fully accessible playground in school.”

Bennerley Fields School caters for children aged 2 to 16 with a range of learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
