On August 10, Kelleher invited a six-year-old girl into his home and persuaded her to touch him.

The 56-year-old, of Peveril Drive, Ilkeston, was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, December 11.

Investigating officer DC Simon Blood said: “The length of Kelleher’s sentence is the result, in part, of the statement given by the young victim and her family.

“I am pleased that a dangerous man is off the streets for such a lengthy period. The victim should be praised for her bravery in coming forward.”
