CHESTERFIELD Royal Hospital’s closure of all adult patient wards to visitors following another outbreak of the Norovirus bug was still in place today, March 14.

The hospital, at Calow, was forced to close the wards to visitors for the second time in two months on Monday after the latest outbreak of the contagious, winter vomiting bug.

A hospital spokesman said Norovirus is not a hospital-acquired infection but visitors with symptoms have continued to visit the site despite efforts to stop them.
