A new free live music event showcasing local bands is set to hit all the right notes.

The Coach & Horses pub in Dronfield is hosting Coachstock – with hopes it can become an annual event.

A spokesman said: “Coachstock promises to be a great family day out with a line-up of live Sheffield and Derbyshire bands, craft stalls, face painting, children’s activities and a variety of food and drink on offer.”

James Broad, pub landlord, said: “If it proves a winner, it will definitely become an annual event.”

Musician Elaine Dennison, from Derbyshire folk band Blind Badger, is helping co-ordinate the music line-up.

She said: “The Coach is very much about highlighting local talent and giving them a platform and James was keen that the event reflected that.

“Its Monday night open music sessions attracts musicians from all over Sheffield and Derbyshire and are about giving talented musicians a voice. We want Coachstock to be an extension of that.”

Coachstock takes place on Saturday, August 15, from noon to midnight.
