Melanie Brookes said she is “overwhelmed” to have her prized warren, Agatha, back after three weeks missing.

She said: “It has been lovely having her back with us. She is just back to her other ways. The other day I found she climbed in the boot nof my car, so she hasn’t learnt her lesson.

“I am just overwhelmed that she has been found.”

Agatha went missing after jumping into a Tuffnells delivery outside Melanie’s home in Morley. When the van made its next stop in Hathersage, Agatha made her escape.

“We had been told there were lots of foxes around the farm where she got out, so we didn’t have much hope” said Melanie, who owns a construction business in Derby. “But when we drove up last week we asked around and someone had found her.”

Agatha is now enjoying life with the 22 other hens in Melanie’s brood.
