Hit-and-run death motorcyclist named by police

A motorcyclist who was killed in a suspected hit-and-run has been named by police.

Warren Hayward, 24, of Hyde Bank Road, New Mills, died in a road collision on the A6, in Taddington Dale, on Friday at around 11.30pm.

The collision involved Warren’s red 125cc Lexmoto Arizona motorcycle and a car.

Warren, who worked at The Spar, in Bakewell, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been notified.

Police arrested five men – aged between 20 and 51-years-old – from Staffordshire on Sunday in connection with the death.

A further two men, aged 54 and 26, who are both from Sheffield, were arrested on Monday.

All seven men have now been released on police bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Smith, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are continuing our inquiries and are still trying to trace two more men who may have been involved in this incident.

“We believe they are in the Sheffield area and I’m urging them to contact us as soon as possible.”
